Exams and Consultations

Consultation:
Consultation with Dr. Tunstall to covering any area of health and fitness you have questions about. This special consultation can be used as counseling on exercise & fitness, nutrition, or even to find out if a health concern you have is within the scope if what we can help you with. This is your chance to have a doctor and fitness professional answer your questions directly and specifically. You get a personal expert for up to 30 minutes of direct, personal attention to the topics you want to cover.

Initial Consultation and biomechanical exam:
Consultation with Dr. Tunstall to gather relevant information for your health concerns. Emphasis will be on finding the underlying causes of your health challenges rather they are nerve, muscle and soft tissue, joint, or over use/misuse related. Due to the complex nature of the human body, many of the health concerns we address will be a combination of the above rather than simply one. The biomechanical exam centers on problem solving combining your relevant history with movement and functional analysis. This exam is central to problem solving and Active Release Techniques®. This could take up to 60 minutes and often includes an initial treatment session.

Treatment and therapy sessions

Athletic Injury & ART:
In this biomechanics based office visit we will combine Active Release Techniques® (ART), physical therapy, and exercise rehab, with chiropractic adjustments as needed to achieve maximum results for you. If you have problems caused by over use/misuse injuries such as carpal tunnel, muscle strains, scar tissue, or your concerns include extremity problems including foot/ankle, knee, hip, hand/wrist, elbow or shoulder complaints and severe headaches or TMJ this is most likely what you need. This is an intensely focused performance and function based appointment designed to fix problems and may take up to 20 minutes per session.

Wellness/Adjustment visits:
This is for people who have successfully completed a problem based care program and/or have no chief complaint they want addressed. The best use of this visit is to improve health and wellness proactively rather than waiting for problems to occur and reacting to pain, but can also be beneficial for those times when you just feel something isn’t quite right. These office visits focus on spinal adjustments with the intention of reducing stress and strain on the nervous system, allowing it to better control and coordinate your movement, health, immune system, and all functions of your body. This is similar to the standard chiropractic practice of spinal adjusting, but with Dr. Tunstall’s unique movement and physiology based assessment to determine your specific needs. These visits are short, typically taking less than 10 minutes and do not include Active Release Techniques.
